New Life Church Sunday Sermon
Preacher: Pastor Choi Jong-dae
Sermon title: There are many church members who have received physical salvation but cannot receive soul salvation.
Mark 5:25-29
And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.
She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had,
yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,
because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed."Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
A woman who had suffered from hemorrhage for 12 years heard that Jesus was performing miraculous healing.
She became confident that she, too, could be cured.
She went to the place where Jesus preached the gospel with great difficulty.
But there were too many people there. He couldn't go to Jesus,
She managed to get behind Jesus and touched the hem of Jesus' clothes.
Then the source of her hemorrhage dried up and was cured.
This treatment is a very touching and grateful event for her.
But this is not the salvation of her soul. It was nothing more than physical salvation.
From then on, a very important process for her began. She had to live for the sake of her soul.
Through that miraculous healing, she realized that Jesus is the Lord of all things.
In order to save her soul, she had to strive to obey the word of the Lord every day and live a life of repentance for her sins.
This is because the salvation of the body is on a different level from the salvation of the soul.
The wisest way is to save one's soul by realizing that the Lord lives and obeying the word of the Lord without having to contract a physical disease and receive healing.
After she was healed, if she had lived a life of repentance she would have gone to heaven, and if she had not been obedient she would have gone to hell.
Those who are healed from physical diseases by the power of the Lord have a good opportunity to go to heaven.
Those who have experienced the power of the Lord can obey the words of the Lord, and those who continue to live a life of repentance from then on will go to heaven.
Those who repent of their sins are forgiven through the blood of Jesus, and the Lord dwells in those who repent. The Bible says that those in this state have been redeemed.
When the redeemed continue to live a life of obedience and repentance, they go to heaven on the day of death, and when the body dies and our soul enters heaven, the salvation of our souls is finally achieved.
Living people in the world have both the possibility of going to heaven and the possibility of going to hell.
The day our body dies will determine where our soul will go.
However, many churches teach human doctrines. They teach that if you repent once, you will automatically go to heaven.
80-90% of church members in Korea believe in this human doctrine. That's why church members don't like to obey and think repentance is unnecessary.
Some church members appear to repent, but their repentance is superficial.
Because they think their souls have already been saved,
they do not realize the importance of repentance. They think of repentance as a kind of religious event.
Most church members live according to their own lusts and do not repent.
They only repent with their lips and do not try to correct their wrong lives.
They memorize the Bible only intellectually. They do not think about putting the word of God into practice in their lives.
Deuteronomy 8:13-14
and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
Do not become arrogant when your health is restored, your silver and gold increase, and your possessions become abundant.
Do not forget that God lives, respect Him, and be thankful for His grace.
However, most people become arrogant when their lives become comfortable and wealthy. They prioritize their own thoughts over the Word of God.
Anyone who forgets the words of the Lord and leaves the path of obedience falls back into the hands of Satan.
Through prayer and the Word, we must cut off the thoughts of pride and disobedience that sprout in our hearts every day.
If you leave them unattended, the sprouts of sin will grow and eventually destroy your soul and drag you to hell.
There are many church members who fall like this.
Famous pastors and elders in our country almost fell into hell.
They also once believed in Jesus and received many blessings from God.
However, because they could not manage their minds well, they lost their faith and perished.
King Saul was destroyed because of his pride. He was a very humble person when he lived as a farmer in the countryside.
After he became king, he tried to kill David, who saved the country from absolute crisis. The reason was that David was very popular.
He summoned the soldiers who protected the country from enemies and used them to search for David.
The result was that God protected David and caused Saul to die.
When Saul was humble, he was redeemed and became king of Israel.
Because his humility became arrogant, his soul was not saved, and he went to hell.
It would have been better for him if he had never become king.
If he becomes arrogant after being cured of his disease, it is better for him not to be cured.
Hebrews 10:36-37
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay.
After doing God's will, we can receive what God has promised us.
What God has promised is the salvation of souls.
God's will for us is to serve God with all our body and mind and love our neighbors.
Even though we try our best, it's always not enough.
So we must repent every day. We must make up for the lack of righteousness through repentance.
When we do this, we will fulfill God’s will.
As a result, our souls are saved.
Those who fulfill the Lord’s will will enter the heaven that the Lord promised.
However, there are many who are waiting for the Lord's second coming even though they are not currently doing the Lord's will.
These people are ultimately waiting for the day when they themselves go to hell.
Hebrews 10:38-39
But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him."
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
The Lord is not pleased when our faith declines.
This is because a decline in faith is the same as giving up the salvation of one's soul.
When health is restored and things in the world are going well, a decline in faith occurs.
Stop repenting and live as you want.
It is handing over one's life to Satan.
When we are healthy and things are going well in the world, our faith can become lazy and regress.
Receiving redemption once does not mean salvation for the soul.
It doesn't matter whether you are healthy or not, whether you have a lot of money or not,
It is important to have the faith to go to heaven.
Faith in going to heaven does not mean having knowledge of the Bible.
It is about practicing the word of God in one's life and repenting of one's shortcomings.
Yield your own interests to achieve peace with your neighbors.
Even if one does not have much knowledge of the Bible, those who strive to be at peace with their neighbors will be forgiven and go to heaven.
Those who are arrogant and put their own thoughts first are far from the salvation of their souls.
Hebrews12:24-25
to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?
Abel's life was unfairly killed by Cain.
Abel's blood spilled on the ground appeals to the Lord for his unjust death.
The Lord hears the pleas of the blood of those who were unjustly killed.
However, the cry of Jesus' blood cannot be compared to the cry of Abel's blood. The blood of Jesus is the power to save all mankind from sin.
The blood of Jesus appeals to everyone to repent and be forgiven for their sins through the blood of Jesus.
Those who broke the commandments of the Lord given through the human Moses perished.
How can those who do not listen to what Jesus commands from heaven live?
The blood of Jesus shed on this earth to save all sinners tells us to repent today.
All who accept Jesus' earnest appeal and repent will receive eternal life.
Hebrews 12:14-15
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
Try to be at peace with everyone and try to choose the holy path in all things.
Without these efforts, no one can meet the Lord.
Only those who go to heaven can meet the Lord.
Be careful that there is someone who believes in Jesus but cannot enter heaven.
Be careful not to let bitterness grow in your heart, tormenting yourself and others.
What does the root of bitterness sprouting in heart mean?
It means not being able to forgive others, not understanding others, being stubborn, and not being able to let go of arrogance and pride.
People like this not only ruin themselves, but also have a negative influence on others, preventing them from going to heaven.
The root of bitterness in one's heart makes others angry, fights with each other, and causes both to go to hell.
We must pull out all the bitter roots of our hearts that expose others' faults and make us fight against each other.
A life that does not strive to live according to the will of the Lord is a life of faith that does not repent.
------------------
If you hate others and show off your pride, all harmony with your neighbors will be broken. The root of bitterness in your heart creates this situation.
The roots of bitterness in the heart are transferred to others and spread like cancer cells.
When you attend a gathering, does the atmosphere there become harmonious? If so, the root of bitterness within you has been removed.
------------
On the other hand, is the good atmosphere becoming awkward because of you?
If so, the root of bitterness within you has not been removed.
The heavy and gloomy atmosphere in the world should be softened and reconciled by our good deeds, and the Lord is pleased with this.
In order to fulfill the role of light and salt, the roots of bitterness in our hearts must first be removed.
----------------
Be tolerant of other people's mistakes.
If you find yourself nitpicking over every mistake made by others, no one will be able to walk with you.
When we expand our narrow minds, we all go to heaven.
James 2:20-22
You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
It took three days for Abraham to go to Mount Moriah to sacrifice Isaac.
If on the way to Mount Moriah he had given up on the Lord's command and returned home, would he have become the father of faith?
Abraham underwent a high-level test of faith. The Lord does not give this difficult test of faith to all people.
What commands does the Lord give to commoners like us?
The Lord wants us to be people who have achieved peace among the people we often meet.
When you have the heart to give in to others, your life will become harmonious.
We must be virtuous in all things and allow the gospel to spread naturally.
--------------
If you are picky with others and have high self-esteem, the gospel of the Lord cannot be spread because of you.
Because Abraham followed the Lord's command to sacrifice Isaac, his faith was recognized as true.
When we achieve peace with our neighbors by sacrificing some of our own interests, the Lord recognizes our faith as true.
Do not become a believer who only obeys once or twice. Those who repent until the end will go to heaven.
No matter how wrong you are, if you sincerely repent, the Lord will forgive you.
This is called the grace of the cross.
It is a privilege received by those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
The opportunity to repent and be forgiven is always wide open to those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
Those who do not believe in the blood of Jesus cannot be redeemed from their sins.
Legalists are those who do not believe in the grace of the precious blood of Jesus on the cross.
They always think that they will go to heaven by keeping all the laws through their own righteousness.
The outside appearance of legalists appears to be holy.
However, their hearts are very dirty, full of greed, lust, and hatred.
They hide their unclean hearts, but everything is to be revealed before the Lord.
The devil and evil spirits are encamped in their hearts.
Anyone who dies in that state goes to hell.
Be honest before the Lord.
You must truly confess your sins and wash away all the sins in your heart with the blood of Jesus.
The Lord forgives those who truly repent.
We must abandon legalistic beliefs that only make things beautiful on the outside.
A person with an identity like Ishmael must be changed to an identity like Isaac.
This means changing from the status of a slave to the status of a free child.
In faith, the status of a slave and a free person are not determined in advance by God.
The status of a slave or a free person is determined depending on what beliefs each individual holds.
Anyone who reveals the hidden sins of their heart to the Lord and repent will become a free son, but if they do not repent of the sins of their hearts and only attend church externally, they will have the faith of a slave.
Legalists are different from the outside and the inside, so church members who disobey and do not repent of their sins become slaves to Satan before the Lord.
Anyone who believes in Jesus in a human way has the status of a servant like Ishmael.
Those who obey the Lord's will and live a repentant life have the status of God's children, even if they are lacking in many ways.
The most important thing is to change a dirty mind into a clean one.
It is a great sin not to acknowledge God as the owner of life.
Not forgiving the faults of others ultimately prevents one's own faults from being forgiven by the Lord.
When you experience a miracle or special grace, you should not be satisfied with it itself.
Through such experiences, we must become more aware of God's will and become more obedient.
Our souls are not saved through many miracles, but by obeying the word of the Lord.
The purpose of experiencing miracles is to purify our hearts.
-------------
Those who only want to experience miracles will not grow in their faith at all.
These people do not know that they must cleanse their dirty and broken souls.
They consider it success in life if they are healthy, make a lot of money, and have successful children.
These church members do not acknowledge the reality of heaven and hell.
How can someone who does not acknowledge the reality of heaven and hell go to heaven?
Gaining the faith to go to heaven is eternal success. Humbling one's own pride and serving others is the faith that will lead to heaven.
1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
When we believe in Jesus, we experience many hardships.
It is a process through which our soul changes.
The faith that saves our souls does not arise in an instant.
Faith grows gradually through many trials and training.
When your faith grows, you value the will of the Lord more than the things of this world.
A person who was not at all interested in his neighbors becomes interested in and loves his neighbors.
This change is the faith that saves one's soul.
The Bible speaks of two types of salvation.
It is salvation from disease and environment, and salvation of the soul.
Soul salvation is the last salvation we receive when we leave this world.
However, salvation from disease and circumstances are things we always experience when living in the world.
Even when we are saved from illness and circumstances, we are happy for a while.
However, soul salvation is an eternal joy that cannot be compared to the joy of the world.
However, many church members only value being healed from illness and have little interest in saving their own souls.
They are not interested in repenting of their sins and going to heaven.
This is because they do not believe the words of the Bible.
Lazarus lived his entire life in poverty and disease, and was not saved from disease and poor conditions.
However, because he lived a life of repentance, his soul was saved.
On the other hand, the rich man was healthy, had a lot of money and power, and lived without anything lacking in the world.
But he lived without love and did not repent of his sins. His soul is not saved, and he goes to hell to suffer forever.
When he lives on this earth, he experiences many pleasant and unpleasant events.
All of these things allow us to know God more deeply, to obey the word of the Lord more, and to repent of all our sins.
We should not be too happy or too sad about things in the world. Through these things, we must realize and obey the will of the Lord. We must repent of our sins through sorrow and pain.
Exodus 14:29-31
But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
That day the LORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.
And when the Israelites saw the great power the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.
When Israel escaped from Egypt and reached the Red Sea, the Egyptian army came running to kill them.
The people were very surprised and afraid, and then Moses stretched out his staff toward the sea.
The Red Sea split into two sides, and a wide road beneath the sea was revealed.
The Israelites crossed over safely, and the Egyptian army followed that path and entered the bottom of the sea.
Then the waters of the sea came together again, and the entire army was drowned.
The Israelites were saved from a tremendous environmental crisis. But it is not salvation of the soul, but salvation from circumstances.
Having experienced the tremendous miracle of God, they should have obeyed the word of God.
However, Israel was thrilled and thankful for just one moment. They soon grumbled and complained, and began to disobey God's word.
--------------------
So their hardships and suffering continued.
Sometimes a fiery serpent suddenly appeared and bit them, and sometimes enemies appeared and killed them with a sword.
Even at such times, the Lord was always guiding them with a pillar of fire and cloud.
Why do you think those who are guided by God suffered like this?
------------
The reason is very simple.
Because they disobeyed and did not repent of their sins.
Because they did not take the path of soul salvation, the Lord continued to discipline them without ceasing to save their souls.
The Israelites who came out of Egypt through God's many miracles failed to reach their destination and were mostly destroyed in the wilderness.
By painting the blood of a lamb on their doorposts, they escaped death in Egypt.
The blood of the lamb symbolized the blood of Jesus.
They ate miraculous manna every day, and their clothes and shoes did not wear out.
They lived in the midst of God's miracles every day.
However, they were not grateful for the Lord's grace and lived in complaints and resentment every day.
That is why the Lord destroyed them in the wilderness.
Just because they are saved from environmental and physical diseases does not mean that their souls are saved as well.
The way to save your soul is to believe in Jesus as your only savior, and live in harmony according to the words of Jesus.
When you commit a sin, you must repent and wash away your sin with the blood of Jesus.
The failure of the Israelites teaches us a lesson.
The lesson is that if we live like them, we will not go to heaven either.
Don't live to have a lot of worldly things.
We must live only for the salvation of our souls.
A stubborn heart must be softened.
Do not covet the things of this world.
Don't brag about yourself.
Do not follow miracles and signs.
Follow the words of the Bible and do not follow the prophecies.
Abandon human doctrines.
Do not put your own thoughts and experiences ahead of the Bible.
--------------
The way to heaven is to obey the words of Jesus.
You must forgive others, do not harm others, and help those who are weaker than you.
Keeping Jesus’ commandment of love is believing in Jesus and is the faith that will take you to heaven.
A life that does not keep the commandment of love is without faith.
Even if you memorize the entire Bible, if you do not have love, it is fake faith.
Believing that there is one God and that Jehovah God came as Jesus is the foundation of faith.
The Creator God created humans and commanded them to follow an order.
Those who keep God's commands will live with blessings and go to heaven.
However, those who do not follow the command will be cursed and go to hell.
However, all humans were sinning and heading toward death.
God took pity on humans walking the path of death, and provided them with a way to live again.
The way for humans to live is to believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to the world and died for all the sins of humans.
Jesus bled and died on the cross, Anyone who believes in the blood and repents of their sins will be forgiven and go to heaven.
This good news is the gospel of life that Jesus preached.
Jesus is by no means a human-like creature, but the Creator God Himself.
Those who believe that Jesus is God Himself can achieve true repentance and be forgiven.
Creatures cannot save other creatures, and humans cannot save other humans.
No one can save himself. This is the level of all humans.
But why do humans say they save other humans? Why are so many people fooled by such lies?
If Jesus is not God, then Jesus cannot save us from sin.
However, many theologians and pastors do not realize this truth.
Many pastors fail to teach this truth. Therefore, countless church members do not know the way to salvation.
Repenting of your sins and obeying the word of the Lord is the way to salvation.
However, many church members do not believe in the power of Jesus' blood and do not repent.
Church members who do not have faith and cannot repent of their sins and receive forgiveness cannot go to heaven.
I want everyone to clearly understand through the Bible that Jesus is God the Creator Himself.
Our faith becomes a strong faith when it is based on the foundation of the Bible.
Not following the path commanded by God is a sin.
The wages of sin is curse, sickness, destruction, and going to hell.
All humans have sinned and are destined to live in pain and go to hell.
However, God the Creator took pity on humans and provided a way for all humans to be saved.
There is only one way to save humans.
God dies on behalf of human sins, and in return, liberates humans from the punishment of their sins.
That is why Jehovah God came to the world in human form, took on the sins of mankind, and died on the cross.
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
In Isaiah, God spoke clearly.
A child will be born of a virgin. That baby is Almighty God.
The baby was called Jesus. The meaning of Jesus' name means that God saves his people from sin.
God clearly revealed that He was born into the world as a baby to die for the sins of mankind.
Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Because Jesus is God himself, he judges and rules the world with fairness and justice.
Jehovah God himself accomplishes this.
Jehovah God is born into the world as a baby, dies for the sins of mankind, saves those who believe, and judges those who do not believe.
Jehovah came to the world in the name of his Son, and also in the name of Jesus and Immanul.
Matthew 1:23
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us."
The meaning of the name Emmanuel means that God is with us. Jesus was given this name because he is God.
Immanuel means that God is with humans.
God came to the world in human form.
The fact that Jesus lived in the world meant that God Himself lived with humans.
God is not the son of man.
It is God himself who came into the world with the name of his Son.
The Bible directly says this. People's arbitrary interpretations should not be added to this truth.
All humans must acknowledge and believe the words written by God as they are.
The baby is Jesus. Jesus is God the Father, Almighty God. Do not distort the words written by the Holy Spirit. That is heresy.
Isaiah 41:4
Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD -with the first of them and with the last--I am he."
One God worked in the name of Jehovah in the Old Testament.
However, in the New Testament, the same God worked in the name of Jesus.
That is why Jehovah God said that the Jesus who will come later is I, Jehovah God.
One God had to perform various works to save mankind, and the Lord used names that suited His work according to the times.
The One who has ordained all generations from the beginning is the Creator, Jehovah God.
Later, God was born into the world as a baby and called him Jesus.
When Jesus shed his blood for atonement on the cross, it was God who shed his blood.
God's blood has infinite power to forgive human sins. God forgives all sins and gives humans new birth.
That is why God is able to restore any fallen and broken human being.
However, the Lord will not restore humans who do not repent. This is the covenant the Lord made with humans.
John 14:9
Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
Disciple Philip did not realize that Jesus was God Himself.
That is why he asked Jesus to show him God the Father.
His spiritual senses were so dull that Jesus said to him:
Philip, you have been with me so long. And yet you still haven't realized who I am? Anyone who has seen me has already seen God the Father.
Jesus' answer is to say that Jesus is God Himself.
Hebrews7:1-3
This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,
and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace."
Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
Melchizedek is the priest who blessed Abraham, the father of faith.
This priest's name has a special spiritual meaning.
Through his name, God speaks of God's plan to be accomplished in the future.
When interpreting his name, his name means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.
”Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
All humans are born from physical parents, but Jesus was conceived and born through the use of his virgin body. So there is no physical genealogy.
All humans are created from the seed of man. Jesus was not born from man's seed, but was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born on his own.
God is self-existent and does not belong to human genealogy.
Through the name of the priest, Melchizedek, God himself told humanity that he would be born in human flesh in the name of his Son.
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
When Adam sinned, God mentioned His plan to save mankind by being born as a human being.
There are no descendants of women in the world; they are all descendants of men.
Jesus said that he would become pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
God took on flesh himself.
Jesus is not a created being. This is God who came in the flesh.
Jesus is the God visible to human eyes, and Jehovah is the invisible God of the spirit.
There are not two Gods. The God of spirit took on flesh to save humanity.
Ephesians 44:8-10
This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."
(What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?
He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)
All humans are born from the earth.
But Jesus came down from heaven.
Jesus took on the sins of mankind and died on the cross. He shed all His water and blood to redeem the sins of mankind.
Jesus died for the sins of mankind, was resurrected, and ascended back to heaven.
Although Jesus took on human form, he was never human; he was God the Father who came down from heaven.
God, the Creator who was in heaven, came to the world in human form.
Anyone who thinks of Jesus as a human cannot be saved.
Because humans cannot save other humans.
Mark16:19
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Acts 7:55-56
But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
"Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.“
Hebrews10:11-12
Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
In heaven there is only one God and only one throne.
However, there are several places in the Bible that say Jesus is at the right hand of God.
We must clearly understand what this expressed word means.
God, who was in heaven, came to earth as Jesus, died for the sins of mankind, was resurrected, and ascended to heaven.
So, when anyone believes in the blood of Jesus and repents, they are immediately forgiven by the blood of Jesus.
Jesus’ work of salvation continues today.Jesus serves as an eternal priest.
Jesus is shown at the right hand of God so that people of all generations will realize that Jesus will always be a priest.
This scene symbolically shows that Jesus is God himself and also plays the role of an eternal priest.
We must be able to distinguish between what the Lord shows us through symbols and what He shows us in reality.
Zechariah 11:12-13
I said to them, "If it is good in your sight, give me my wages; but if not, never mind!" So they weighed out thirty shekels of silver as my wages.
Then the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter, that magnificent price at which I was valued by them." So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the LORD.
This Bible passage cannot be interpreted from the Old Testament itself.
The reason is because it is something that will be accomplished in the New Testament era.
And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"-the handsome price at which they priced me!
So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter.
The Old Testament itself has no idea what this verse is talking about.
These words are accurately interpreted in the events that occurred in the New Testament.
Matthew 27:3-8
When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders."I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." "What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility."So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money."So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners. That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
In the Old Testament, God had the potter throw 30 pieces of silver in the temple.
In the New Testament era, Judas Iscariot regretted selling Jesus for 30 pieces of silver and came to the temple and threw the money.
The money was used to buy a potter's field.
This incident also proves that Jehovah came as Jesus.
The foundation of our faith must be in the words of the Bible.
The basis of that faith is believing that Jesus is God Himself.
Those who believe, repent, and obey the words of Jesus will be saved.
Those who believe in Jesus as their only savior and repent of their sins are to go to heaven.
