Sermon : If the purpose of believing in Jesus is not clear, you will pray in vain.

The purpose of believing in Jesus is to go to heaven.

The Creator God came to the world in human form,

and took upon himself all of humanity's sins, and was crucified and died.

Jesus, who opened the way for humanity to salvation in this way, is God Himself.

The only way to go to heaven is to obey Jesus' words, repent of our sins of disobedience, and wash away our sins with Jesus' blood.

The ones who prevent us from believing in Jesus, the only Savior, are Satan and his minions, the evil spirits.

The lie of Satan that hinders our faith is that there are two or three Gods. They deceive us with this lie.

Those who are deceived by Satan's lies do not know God correctly. That is why many believers do not have a firm faith.

To go to heaven, we must believe in the one God, obey His words, and repent of our disobedience.

Because demons hinder our faith according to the Bible, we must always cast out Satan and demons in the name of Jesus.

To defeat Satan, we must have a clear goal of faith.

If someone who does not know the goal and purpose of faith orders Satan to leave, Satan will not leave, but will instead laugh at and attack him.

To cast out Satan, we must first repent and receive forgiveness from the Lord.

We must have a clear goal of faith that we must keep, and we must defeat Satan who hinders us.

If a soldier goes to war without knowing who his enemies are, can he just shoot anywhere?

A soldier must have a clear goal of protecting his country and shoot at the invading enemy.

God's people are warriors who defeat Satan.

We must set a goal of believing only in God and obeying God's word, and we must defeat the demons that hinder us to the end.

Those who do not know the goal of faith and only try to cast out Satan will not achieve any results, and will become tired and discouraged.

The goal of our faith is to believe in the Creator God and obey His Word.

And to defeat Satan who hinders our obedience.

The purpose of Jesus shedding His blood is to forgive the sins of all those who repent and to send them all to heaven.

Can a soldier who goes to war just shoot anywhere without knowing who the enemy is?

Soldiers who participate in war must have a clear goal of protecting their country, and they must shoot at the invading enemy forces to stop them.

All of God’s people must become warriors who defeat Satan.

We must set goals of believing only in God, obeying God’s words, and defeating the demons that hinder our work.

Those who try to cast out Satan without a goal of faith will not achieve results and will become tired and discouraged.

The primary goal of our faith is to repent of our sins and go to heaven.

The primary goal of faith is to achieve complete repentance.

Repent for the mistake of dividing the one God into two or three. Repent for the sin of following human doctrines rather than God’s words.

Acts 19:14-16

Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.

(One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"

Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

As Paul preached the gospel, many miracles occurred and evil spirits were driven out.

The priest’s sons who were watching this situation thought that they could also drive out demons.

So they ordered the demons to come out, but the demon-possessed one overpowered them and beat them severely.

They could not overcome the demon-possessed man and ran away naked. In this way, it is not impossible to overcome demons with human power.

When those who obey the word of God and repent command in the name of Jesus, demons are driven out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 6:7-8

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Those who pray for this and that according to the fleshly desires, rather than praying for the goal that the Bible teaches, are praying in vain.

When we pray and act for the right goal, God provides us with everything we need.

Matthew 6:12-13

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'

The first goal of faith is to believe that only God is the master and savior.

Believing in God means obeying the word of God and repenting when you sin.

The second goal is to forgive the faults of your neighbors, and to do good to them instead of doing evil to them.

When we forgive our neighbors first, the blood of Jesus forgives our sins.

When someone who does not forgive others casts out a demon, the demon laughs and does not go out.

The demon says to him, “You are my servant. How can my servant try to cast me out?” and the demon oppresses him instead.

Matthew 6:21-23

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.

But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

When we use the material God has given us to save souls,

our spiritual eyes are opened, and our hopes and interests are always in heaven.

The eyes are the lamp of the body. Those with good eyes do not stumble over obstacles on the road.

In the same principle, those with bright spiritual eyes will never fall into Satan's trap.

Those who love money more than God are spiritually blind,

That is why such people fail and perish because they decide everything according to the desires of the flesh.

Those with dark spiritual eyes find their entire lives frustrating and painful.

Isaiah 1:15

When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood;

Even if we pray to the Lord for blessings without repenting our sins, the Lord does not accept such prayers.

The Lord covers His eyes from these people.

The reason is that their hands are full of blood.

The hands of those who harm and hurt others are full of blood.

Cain hated Abel and stoned him to death in the field. No one saw the murder.

As recorded in the Bible, Abel’s unjust blood flowed on the ground and he continued to appeal to the Lord for his injustice.

All sins are the enemy of the Lord. When we commit sin and do not repent, a wall of sin is built between us and the Lord.

That wall of sin prevents communication between the Lord and us.

Only through repentance can the wall of sin be torn down.

When the wall of sin disappears, the Lord’s life and blessings flow to us.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.

No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Do not live a life of faith without a goal.

The goal and purpose of faith is to believe in the Creator God, obey His words, and go to heaven.

Human doctrines teach that there is no need to obey the Lord’s words or repent. They oppose the Lord’s will.

False doctrines make people lose their goal of faith.

Those who have lost their goal pray in vain no matter how hard they pray.

These believers are always under the control of Satan, and their end is hell.

Because they believe in Jesus without repentance, their sin problem cannot be solved.

In order not to be dragged by the demands of the flesh, the Apostle Paul beat his flesh every day to make it obey the words of Jesus.

The Apostle Paul also tried so hard to prevent himself from going to hell after preaching the gospel to others.

There are not many pastors who are spiritually awake these days. Most of them believe in and teach human doctrines.

They learn systematic theology in seminaries. That systematic theology is human doctrine. They teach that the moment you believe in Jesus, your soul is saved.

So everyone believes in Jesus in an easy way, pastors minister for their own flesh and honor.

These people believe in Jesus for the blessings, honor, and pleasure of the world, the purpose of faith has changed.

These pastors take their congregations to hell.

Romans 7:14-15

We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Even the apostle Paul, who was filled with the Holy Spirit and lived only by faith, spoke of his deep distress over the unspiritual of his flesh.

Oh, my flesh does not do what I want, but rather wants to do what I hate. I am greatly distressed. This is how he confessed the truth.

In order to obey the word of God, he daily defeated the thoughts of his flesh and made them submit to the will of the Lord.

This is the limit of a human being with a flesh.

The apostle Paul also tried hard to obey the word of the Lord, and we too must try hard to obey.

Who can surpass the faith of the apostle Paul?

Romans 7:22-23

For in my inner being I delight in God's law;

but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.

The inner man is our soul, and the outer man is our flesh.

The thoughts of the flesh are too strong, overpowering our minds and dragging us under sin.

It means that we cannot overcome the power of sin with our own determination or will.

Only by being filled with the Holy Spirit can we overcome the thoughts of sin by the power of the Holy Spirit.

When we repent, we receive the Holy Spirit, and when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we have a greater desire to repent and the strength to obey more.

(1단계)

Romans 1:17

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

When we repent, the Holy Spirit comes. The Holy Spirit helps us understand the Word, helps us to repent more, and leads us to obey more.

When we obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit fills us more.

The practice of faith leads to greater faith. This is the principle of the spiritual world.

If we do not repent, the opposite phenomenon occurs:

The fullness of the Holy Spirit becomes weak, and we do not want to repent and obey.

When we strive to keep our faith, the Holy Spirit fills us more, and our faith becomes stronger.

If we do not strive to obey and repent, even the faith we had will be taken away.

Luke 19:26-27

"He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me."

Human doctrines hate God as king and oppose the Word of God.

Man-made doctrines put humans in the place of God and ignore the Bible.

That is why the Lord judges these arrogant people and throws them into hell.

These believers lose even the faith they received at first and perish on their own.

Romans 8:1-2

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Those who are in Jesus will never be condemned and will not go to hell.

However, there are too many church members who do not understand this word correctly and interpret it incorrectly.

They think that if you just go to church, you are definitely in Jesus.

But that is absolutely not true. Believing that the Creator came as Jesus and obeying the words of Jesus is being in Jesus.

And church members who disobey the words of God and do not repent are outside of Jesus.

However, when these people repent, they are forgiven of their sins through the blood of Jesus and come back into Jesus.

Every time we sin, we must repent and be forgiven. Those who believe in human doctrines do not repent, so they are all outside of Jesus.

Church members who do not live a life of repentance are all under the power of Satan.

No matter how many sins you have committed up until now, the moment you repent, you cross over from the power of Satan into the power of Jesus.

Romans 8:6-8

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;

the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

Those who have attended church for decades but still live according to the fleshly thoughts and do not repent have not yet believed in Jesus.

These believers will never enjoy the new life and peace that Jesus gives, and on the contrary, they are in an enemy relationship with Jesus.

The believers who belong to the flesh will never submit to the will of God.

They must truly repent, receive the Holy Spirit, and cast off the thoughts of the flesh with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Even those who are filled with the Holy Spirit can commit sins momentarily, but they must quickly realize their sins and cast them away.

The old thoughts of the flesh always hinder our new life.

Whenever we command in the name of Jesus, the evil thoughts and forces will leave us.

This is the power of the Holy Spirit, and the evidence that the Holy Spirit is with us.

The kingdom of God is not evidenced by words alone, but by this practical power.

We must always drive out the power of sin and death with the authority of Jesus' name and enjoy the peace of the Lord.

Through our victorious lives, the kingdom of God must be expanded.

Romans 8:26

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

When we repent and receive the Holy Spirit, the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express, even when we do not know what to pray for.

The Bible guides us to pray correctly even though we are lacking.

Romans 1:17

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

In the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed and makes us righteous.

This means that when we repent, we are forgiven, receive the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit leads us to the path of life.

Those who obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit and continue to live a life of repentance will go to heaven, but those who give up halfway will go to hell.

Luke 19:26-27

"He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me."

The Lord gives talents to each person, and not using them is rejecting the Lord as king.

Faith must continue to grow. Faith grows when we repent and strive to obey the will of the Lord.

Those who grow in faith will enter heaven and receive rewards, houses, and crowns according to their deeds in heaven.

If faith does not grow, even the faith they had will be taken away on the last day and they will go to hell.

The reason faith does not grow is because they only go to church and do not live a life of repentance and obedience.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

When we believe in Jesus, trials and hardships come to us. The reason for hardships is that the Lord makes us realize our disobedience and unrepentant life and makes us obey.

The purpose of hardships is to bring those who are going to hell back to the path of heaven.

When the Lord gives us trials, he gives us within the range that we can handle.

If we hate the hardships that we can endure and overcome and resent God, his faith cannot grow and he cannot go to heaven.

Proverbs 19:2-3

It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way. A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

The desires of wrong knowledge are not in accordance with the will of God. The desires to accomplish evil are crooked paths.

A life that does not repent of sin is a crooked path to hell.

When they are disciplined to come to the way of heaven, they resent the Lord and do not follow the good path.

Who are those who hate discipline, resent the Lord, and do not repent? They are those who follow human doctrines.

Romans 5:3-4

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Those who realize God's will rejoice even in suffering.

Why is that? It is because going through suffering is training to enter heaven.

The way to safely pass through suffering is to realize your own mistakes, repent, and turn from sin.

Through your suffering, you come to understand the pain of your neighbors.

Through this training, you become able to forgive the faults of your neighbors. Your narrow heart becomes broad.

1 Peter 4:17-18

For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

Judgment beginning in the house of God means that God judges the sins of the church members.

There are wheat and chaff in the church. The wheat is those who obey the word of God, and the chaff is those who disobey and do not repent.

Church members who live according to the lusts of the flesh and practice formal faith have false faith.

Even saints who practice being godly and always repent cannot always obey perfectly,

That is why the Lord saves them with His mercy. That is why He says that they are barely saved.

How can church members who do not practice being godly and always act according to their own lusts be saved and go to heaven?

Luke 18:29-30

"I tell you the truth," Jesus said to them, "no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life."

No one who leaves parents or brothers or homes for the sake of the kingdom of God will receive many times as much on earth, and there is no one who will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

This means that the heart for the kingdom of God must be greater than the heart for family and property in order to enter the kingdom of heaven.

1 Timothy 5:8

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Jesus says that those who do not care for their families because they believe in Jesus are worse than unbelievers.

Do you think this is a contradictory statement to the previous Bible verse?

Absolutely not. The two verses have the same context.

We must preach the gospel in the Word of God and take care of our families according to the standards of the Word.

If our own family members are prevented from believing in God, such a demand is unacceptable.

Children who believe in God should honor their parents more than children of unbelievers.

When they do so, their parents will be moved and follow their children to believe in Jesus.
